MANILA, Philippines — Four weather systems are set to bring rain nationwide this Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa forecasts that the trough of a low-pressure area south of Palawan, combined with the shear line, will cause cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms in Aurora, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
“Makakaranas po tayo ng mataas tyansa ng pag-ulan ngayong araw kaya maging handa at alerto tayo sa mga banta ng biglaang pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa,” said weather specialist Daniel James E. Villamil in the weather bureau’s morning forecast.

The northeast monsoon is also expected to bring rain to the rest of Luzon. Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with rain, while Metro Manila and other Luzon provinces will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
Localized thunderstorms are predicted in the Visayas and Mindanao, leading to partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
A gale warning remains in place in Batanes, the northern coast of Ilocos Norte, and the northern coast of Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands.
Villamil noted moderate to rough seas in these areas due to the northeast monsoon, advising fishermen and small boat operators to avoid sailing in these northern Luzon seaboards.
