MANILA, Philippines — Unfavorable weather conditions will prevail in most parts of the country on Tuesday due to three weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. According to Pagasa, the low-pressure area (LPA) and shear line, or the convergence of cool and warm winds, will bring overcast skies with rain showers and thunderstorms to the Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Quezon, and Aurora.

The LPA was spotted 290 kilometers west-southwest of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, as of 3 a.m.

“Base sa ating mga pinakahuling datos, medyo maliit na ‘yung tiyansa na lumakas po ulit ito at maging isang ganap na bagyo’t bumalik at maging isang Kabayan po ulit. Subalit patuloy pa rin natin itong imo-monitor sa mga susunod na araw,” state weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

(Based on our latest data, the chance that it will strengthen again and become a full-blown typhoon and return and become a Kabayan again is quite slim. But we will continue to monitor it in the next few days.)

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rain may be expected in the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan.

Pagasa cautioned residents living in low-lying areas against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, may expect fair weather to be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also caused by amihan.

The state weather bureau said that this weather condition will not have a significant impact on the affected areas.
