The National Economic Development Authority (Neda) board, chaired by President Marcos, held its last meeting for the year on Thursday and approved four more high-impact projects and policies.
Socioeconomic Planning Sec. Arsenio Balisacan, concurrent Neda director-general, said the board confirmed the construction of the 23-kilometer Dalton Pass bypass road at a cost of P67.4 billion.
The body also approved a draft executive order on the temporary extension of Most-Favored-Nation tariff rates on pork, corn, and rice which aims to help ensure an adequate supply of agricultural commodities and maintain prices.
Also approved was the second phase of the DPWH’s master plan on high-standard highway network development, comprising 53 projects to be completed between 2030 and 2045.
The secretary said the board also confirmed the eight-point action agenda of the Department of Health for its medium-term strategy for the health sector from 2023 to 2028.
Aligned with the Philippine Development Plan and the Universal Health Care Program, Balisacan said the action agenda contains priority strategies for the health sector that are divided into three major parts dedicated to every Filipino, every community, and every health worker and institution in the country. —JEROME ANING
