MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led on Wednesday the turnover ceremony of P776 million worth of excavators procured by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).
The turnover ceremony was held at Subic Freeport Zone in Olongapo City, Zambales.
“The country’s irrigation system will improve even more after the NIA has procured these 141 quality excavators,” the Presidential Communications Office said in Filipino in a Facebook post.

During the turnover, Marcos urged the NIA to maximize the use of the equipment, particularly in helping farmers boost their yield.
This is timely as the country is forecast to experience a strong El Niño phenomenon next year, he said.
