MANILA, Philippines — Opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros called on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to issue an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order for self-declared “Appointed Son of God” Apollo Quiboloy.

This move is meant to prevent the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ church from leaving the Philippines.

The senator earlier filed a resolution that seeks to investigate Quiboloy and his organization for alleged involvement in criminal activities such as sexual abuses and human trafficking.

“I urge the Department of Justice to issue an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order, which they can do motu proprio, to prevent Quiboloy from leaving the country,” she said.

“He must not escape accountability. Our children’s lives are at stake,” the Senator warned.

Hontiveros also said it would be better if security agencies could coordinate with their international counterparts to prevent Quiboloy from evading justice since he might be proven guilty of the crimes charged against him.

“Patunay doon sa binanggit ko kanina na global ang breadth ng mga krimen at concern tungkol sa mga krimen ni Quiboloy dahil nga nasa Federal Bureau of Investigation Wanted List na siya,” she explained.

(Just like what I pointed out earlier, the breadth of the crimes and concerns about Quiboloy are global since he is already on the FBI’s Wanted List.)

“Hindi masama na makipag-ugnayan ang DOJ at National Bureau of Investigation sa counterpart nila sa United States para masigurong hindi makatakas sa kamay ng batas o hustisya si Quiboloy, kung mapatunayan ng aming pagdinig ang mga reklamo laban sa kanya,” suggested Hontiveros.

(It is not bad for DOJ and NBI to contact their counterparts in the US to ensure that he won’t be able to escape from the hands of the law or justice if our hearing proves he is guilty of the complaints against him.)

The senator noted she would no longer be surprised if the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking became proactive.

She said the council has been investigating cases involving human trafficking.
