Infra damage in Eastern Visayas due to floods now at P469 million
MANILA, Philippines — The damage to public infrastructure in Eastern Visayas due to floods brought by a shear line has reached P469 million, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.
According to Regional Director Edgar Tabacon on Friday, the costs of totally damaged infrastructure were marked at P215.5 million, while partially damaged infrastructure projects were marked at P253.9 million.

The DPWH – Maintenance Division has estimated that at least P716 million is needed for the full repair of all damaged infrastructure due to the floods.
Meanwhile, the agency said that it has cleared and reopened seven out of nine road sections in the Northern Samar First District, Northern Samar Second District, Samar First District, and Eastern Samar District, and is clearing two other national roads in the Northern Samar First District.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Friday, there have been two reported deaths due to the shear line floods which are up for validation.
