Nat’l karate at J Center Mall

THE NATIONAL Invitational Open Karate Championships will be held in Cebu this weekend at the J Center Mall in AS Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.

The tournament will feature Cebu’s best karate clubs going up against some of the country’s top teams.

Organizers have yet to finalize the teams coming from outside Cebu.

As of this writing, only Cebu teams have confirmed their participation. These are AKC Club of Cebu City, AKC Club of Lapu-Lapu City, SKO Karate Club, SKC Karate Club, Bamasko Karate Club, ASK Karate club, Oska Karate Club, Shidokan Karate Club Cebu, King Cobra Karate Club, Black Kimono Karate Club, LKDC, Japan Karate Association (JKA) of the University of Cebu, JKA Lapu-Lapu, JKA Cebu and SKA Karate Club.

The tournament will feature kata and kumite competition. The tournament starts Saturday at 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
