Lady Cobras meet NU today

THE SOUTHWESTERN University (SWU) Lady Cobras take on the National University Lady Bulldogs  today in the 9th Shakey’s V-League at the Arena in San Juan City.

The three-time Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. women’s volleyball champions lost to the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 9-25, 8-25, 15-25, in their debut in the league.

SWU hopes to bounce back with the help of Raphril Aguilar, Danika Gendrauli, Lori May Layno and imports Genie Sabas and Nica Guliman.

In Tuesday’s main game, Jeng Bualee produced another 25-plus effort, firing 31 kills to power San Sebastian College past a tough University of St. La Salle, 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21, to regain the solo lead in Group B.

The Thai ace unloaded half of her output in the last two sets as the Lady Stags scuttled the Bacolod-based squad to formalize their stint in the quarterfinals with a third straight win. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
