MANILA, Philippines — Senator Imee Marcos said that her family and the Dutertes are on good terms as she blasted political troublemakers amid talks of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte.

“We have so many problems. Have mercy on the administration,” she said in Filipino during an ambush interview in Navotas, where she distributed boats to fishermen on Wednesday.

“’Yung mga nagpapakana nito na halos kada linggo ay may pasabog – nitong tatlo, apat na linggong nakaraan – eh sana maawa naman sila sa Pilipinas (Those who are planning this almost every week there is an explosion – these three, four weeks ago – I hope they have mercy on the Philippines).

“Maawa kayo sa mga Pilipinong naghihikahos at hindi makabili ng sapat na pagkain, pagkamahal-mahal. Mahiya naman tayo bilang Pilipino (Have mercy on the Filipinos who are poor and cannot buy enough food, so expensive. We should be ashamed as Filipinos),” she also said.

According to the senator, her brother – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice President Duterte, and former President Rodrigo Duterte are “not problematic.” She then criticized those who are “making trouble” but did not name names, noting that she only read news reports.
