MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has prevented two American nationals from entering the country for being registered sex offenders (RSO).
In a statement, the BI said their officers stopped 47-year-old Neil Eugene Graves and 60-year-old Stuart Chase Dingman at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport over the weekend.
Graves arrived on November 18, while Dingman arrived on November 19 from Incheon, South Korea.
Under the Philippine Immigration Act, foreign nationals previously convicted for crimes involving moral turpitude, which include sexual offenses, are prohibited from entering the country.
Citing public records, the BI said a circuit court in Kent, Michigan, convicted Graves in 2011 for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the fourth degree, as he molested a minor aged between 13 and 15.
Dingman, on the other hand, was convicted multiple times in 1992 and 1996, according to the BI, adding that he was charged with assault and battery of a child in Massachusetts.
The two Americans were already flown out of the country via a Korean Air flight to Incheon, the bureau said.
