Phivolcs records 113 aftershocks following Davao Occidental quake
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded 113 aftershocks as of 1 p.m. on Tuesday following an earthquake off Davao Occidental.
Of the total, only six were felt on the ground, ranging from magnitude 1.4 to 4.9, according to Phivolcs.

The magnitude 6.8 tectonic earthquake occurred 30 kilometers southwest of Sarangani, Davao Occidental on Friday afternoon and had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.

Phivolcs initially pegged the quake at magnitude 7.2.
The Department of Health on Tuesday said 11 people died due to the tremor.
