Citigym’s surgical mission benefits 160 patients

02:53 PM May 02, 2012

Metro Cebu’s 24-hour fitness center Citigym decided to give back to the community after six years of being in the industry by spearheading a surgical mission, in partnership with the Junior Chamber International Zugbuana, Philippine College of Surgeons–Cebu Eastern Visayas chapter and the Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital Department of Surgery.

Last April 14 at 7 a.m., 160 residents of barangay Lahug in Cebu City were given minor procedures like circumcision and lumpectomies from the surgeons of Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital headed by Dr. Henry Chua at the Lahug barangay hall.

While waiting for their turn to be circumcised, the children were given chocolates to comfort them.

The patients did not go home empty-handed as they were also treated to a bagful of Pocari Sweat from Otsuka Philippines, canned goods, chocolates and school supplies.

The Citigym surgical mission was also supported by International Pharmaceuticals Inc., Evercare Pharmacy and WeCare Home Health Care.
