LOOK: Leila de Lima visits former VP Leni Robredo in Camarines Sur
MANILA, Philippines — Former Senator Leila de Lima rendezvoused with former vice president Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo in Naga, Camarines Sur, on Thursday morning.
On Monday, de Lima was allowed to post bail by the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court for her final drug case, which marked the end of her detention since 2017. So far, she has been acquitted in two out of three drug cases.
“Masaya ako na sa wakas ay namayani ang hustisya at makakapiling na natin nang malaya si Sen. Leila. Tagumpay ito hindi lang para sa kaniya, kundi para sa ating bayan,” Robredo said on Monday.
(I am happy that, at last, justice reigned, and we can be with Sen. Leila de Lima, who is free. This is a mark of success for her and our country.)
In the 2022 national elections, de Lima ran under Robredo’s senatorial slate while Robredo vied for the presidential seat. However, the two did not win their positions.
Both de Lima and Robredo hail from Camarines Sur.
