BOC seizes agri products misdeclared as frozen sea food in Subic

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) said on Wednesday that it has prevented the entry and release of misdeclared agricultural products in the Port of Subic.

MANILA, Philippines —  The Bureau of Customs (BOC) said on Wednesday that it has prevented the entry and release of misdeclared agricultural products at the Port of Subic.

According to the BOC, it has received derogatory information about 15 container van shipments that were said to contain frozen processed sea foods.

The Port of Subic also issued eight Pre-Lodgement Control Order and two alert orders against the shipments.

However, upon inspection, the shipments contained assorted fresh vegetables.

The agency added that it will subject the products to seizure and forfeiture proceedings and will prosecute the entities behind the alleged smuggling attempt.
