Bongbong Marcos to extend validity of foreigners’ electronic visas

MANILA, Philippines — Government is taking measures aimed at extending the validity of electronic visas issued to foreigners staying in the country.

President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. made the statement during the courtesy visit of Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shambhu Kumaran in Malacañang last week.

The information was released by Presidential Communications Office on Sunday.

“We will find a way to do it. But we are doing it (extending the e-visa),” Marcos told the Indian diplomat.

The President was reacting to the request of the envoy for Philippine government to allow the extension of e-visas for Indians in the Philippines.

Marcos told the ambassador that the provisions for e-visa extensions will be implemented, not only for Indians, but for all foreigners.

“It won’t be just India. We are doing it with… several other countries as well to keep it,” he told Kumaran.

“Again, we will just apply the same principles that we did with others – to India. But that is something that’s easy for us,” he said.

“That’s going to be a good beginning of a good exchange between our two countries,” he added.
