MANILA, Philippines — Former Solicitor General Francisco Chavez pulled out of the Ombudsman race on Monday.
Chavez was set to be interviewed for the position by the Judicial and Bar Council but he informed them that his family had asked him not to pursue his bid anymore.
Chavez withdrew his nomination after conferring with his family.
He is one of the 27 candidates for the Ombudsman position supposed to be interviewed by the judicial and bar council.
At press time, the JBC is interviewing trial court judge Philip Aguinaldo.
Also set to be interviewed are Ombudsman officer in charge Orlando Casimiro, De La Salle University law dean Chel Diokno and De La Salle law professor Ernesto Francisco.
