The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Tuesday announced that 761,150 beneficiaries of the government’s conditional cash transfer program or the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) would be retained following the review of 1.1 million households up for graduation.
Edu Punay, undersecretary of the DSWD, said that the 761,150 beneficiaries have remained at the poverty level required to be part of the 4Ps due to the pandemic.
Punay admitted that most of the beneficiaries were due for graduation but have dropped to the poverty level again because of the impact of the pandemic.

“Our department saw that they are still really poor and still need assistance under the 4Ps program,” he said.
He added that the remaining 339,660 has been assessed by the DSWD as “nonpoor” or have reached the self-sufficient level based on the DSWD’s indicators.
According to him, households who already graduated from the 4Ps are endorsed to their local governments for other assistance such as the sustainable livelihood program.
