DOT asks Filipinos to vote Intramuros as world's leading tourist attraction

The Department of Tourism urges Filipinos to vote for the Walled City of Intramuros as the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction in the 2023 World Travel Awards (WTA).

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism (DOT) has requested Filipinos to vote for the walled city of Intramuros as the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction in the 2023 World Travel Awards (WTA).

Intramuros last held the title in 2020 and vied to reclaim this year’s recognition.

“Come together and lend your support as Intramuros once again competes for the World Travel Awards as the world’s leading tourist attraction,” DOT said.

Voters may visit the WTA official website and vote by clicking this link or scanning the QR code posted on DOT’s Facebook account.

Aside from the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction title, the country is also nominated in the following categories:

  • World’s Leading Beach Destination
  • World’s Leading Dive Destination
  • World’s Leading Island Destination
  • World’s Leading Tourist Board

“Click on THE PHILIPPINES in each nominated category to show your full love and support until November 17, 2023 [United Kingdom time],” DOT said.

WTA is a London-based award-giving body established in 1993 that recognizes excellence in travel and tourism on three levels: national, regional, and global awards in several categories.
