MANILA, Philippines — A 29-year-old member of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel was arrested by authorities during an entrapment operation in Muntinlupa for estafa and graft and corruption, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported on Wednesday.

According to CIDG, Fire Officer 1 Ramces Paul Baylon Benipayo was collared by its operatives in front of Star Mall, Alabang, around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police said it conducted the entrapment operation after one of Benipayo’s victims, Justin Ibardolaza, lodged a complaint against him for offering a slot for officer or promotion in the BFP in exchange for P200,000.
