MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to conduct road reblocking and repairs on 16 various roads in Metro Manila over the weekend.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the repairs will begin at 11 p.m. on Friday, October 20, and until 5 a.m. on Monday, October 23.
“Motorists are advised to take alternate routes,” the MMDA said in a traffic advisory.
Below is the list of roads where the DPWH will undergo repairs over the weekend:
- C-5 Road (northbound or NB) Lane 2, Pasig City
- C-5 Road to Korean embassy (southbound or SB) 3rd lane, Makati City
- Edsa Taft Ave. to MRT station (NB) 4th lane, Pasay City
- Edsa Annapolis to Connecticut (SB) outer Lane, San Juan City
- Taft Avenue corner Pedro Gil St., Manila City
- Edsa (SB), after Malibay Bridge outer lane, Pasay City
- A. Bonifacio Ave. (NB), corner Sgt. Rivera St. 1st lane from the sidewalk, Quezon City
- C-5 Road (SB), after C-5 and Ayala Heights intersection, Quezon City
- C-5 Road (SB), after Magsaysay Ave., Quezon City
- C-5 Road (SB), after Magsaysay Ave. near U- turn slot, Quezon City
- Commonwealth Ave. (SB), fronting Hyundai Motors to fronting RCBC, 3rd lane from the sidewalk, Quezon City
- C-5 Road, along Lanuza Ave. and Casa Verde Townhomes, Pasig City
- C-3 Road (eastbound) between Rizal Ave. to. M. H Del Pilar St. (2nd lane from the sidewalk), Caloocan City
- Rizal Ave. exit (NB), between 11th Ave. and Bustamante St. (3rd Lane), Caloocan City
- EDSA (NB), between G. De Jesus St. to Gen. Tirona St., Caloocan City
Meanwhile, the Mindanao Avenue underpass in Quezon City will also be partially closed for two consecutive weekends.
According to DPWH’s Facebook advisory, work in the northbound lanes will begin from October 20, 10:00 p.m., to October 23, 5:00 a.m.
On the other hand, work in the southbound lanes will be from October 27, 10:00 p.m. to October 30, 5:00 a.m.
The affected lanes will be closed to traffic while the reblocking activities are ongoing.
The DPWH also told motorists to take alternate routes.
“To avoid traffic congestion during the repair works, motorists are advised to take possible alternate routes such as Congressional Avenue, Edsa, Tandang Sora Avenue, Road 20, Mendez Road, and Tullahan Road,” the advisory said.
