MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday named Maria Salgado as Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) new assistant general manager for finance and administration.
MMDA acting chair Don Artes acknowledged Salgado’s contribution to the government agency.
“I would like to convey my full support for Assistant General Manager Salgado, whom I have known ever since I worked for MMDA in 2017,” said Artes.
“She is competent and hard-working and was instrumental in the agency’s COA (Commission on Audit) unqualified opinion for four consecutive years,” he added.
For her part, Salgado expressed her gratitude to the President for letting her serve under his administration.
“I thank President Ferdinand Marcos for his trust and confidence. Rest assured that I will do my best for the agency and for the public,” Salgado said.
Before her appointment, Salgado served as MMDA’s Director III of Finance Service and Caretaker/Custodian at the Office of the Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration.
She began working at the Metropolitan Manila Commission (MMC), or the former MMDA, as a revenue specialist in 1985.
Salgado holds a degree in Commerce (Major in Accounting) from the University of Santo Tomas.
She is a Certified Public Accountant.
She also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wesleyan University and holds CSC Career Service Professional eligibility.
