MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Philippine Air Force (PAF) Brig. General Jesus Nelson B. Morales as the new head of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), Malacañang said on Tuesday.

“Brig. General Jesus Nelson B. Morales has been appointed as the Commander of the Presidential Security Group, taking the place of Brig. General Ramon P. Zagala (PA). Zagala will assume his new role as Commander of the Civil Relations Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” said the Presidential Communications Office.

Morales was given the rank of Brigadier General in August when the Commission on Appointments confirmed his new position.

The PSG is tasked with the security and safety of the President, their families, and former presidents.
