China insists it owns Pag-asa Island, says PH ‘illegally occupied’ it
China is once again claiming ownership of Pag-asa Island, as they denounce the Philippines for “illegally occupying” the island.
“Zhongye Dao is China’s territory. The Philippines has illegally occupied Zhongye Dao, which seriously violates China’s sovereignty,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, said in a press conference
‘Spike in attacks’ on Senate website bared
The Senate discloses a “spike in attacks” on its website over the weekend.
“Per our IT, we recorded a spike in attacks last Sunday,” Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said in a text message to reporters.
2 more witnesses retract testimonies in drug case vs De Lima
Two more witnesses against detained former Senator Leila de Lima retract their testimonies, saying they were bothered by their conscience.
“We are recanting our testimonies for several reasons with the primordial objective–to help you both to be set free,” former police officers Rodolfo Magleo and Nonilo Arile said in a letter to de Lima and her co-accused, former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director Franklin Bucayo.
