LUCENA CITY — Five suspected drug traffickers were arrested in separate anti-crime operations in Rizal and Batangas provinces on Saturday and Sunday.
According to police, the suspects yielded more than P607,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm.
In a report, the Police Region 4A said Ding Angelo Christian Libiran was arrested at 12:14 a.m. on Sunday, October 8, by anti-narcotics operatives in Antipolo City, Rizal after he sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Cupang.
Authorities seized from the suspect seven plastic sachets of meth weighing seven grams, with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P47,600.
Also confiscated from Libiran, an identified street-level pusher on the police drug watch list, was an undocumented caliber .32 pistol loaded with four bullets.

In Taytay town, police nabbed Jimmy Boy Babera while engaged in cara y cruz (coin toss) in Barangay Muzon at around 12:30 a.m. also on Sunday. The other gamblers were able to escape.
During the routine frisking, Babera was found in possession of shabu weighing a total of 30 grams with a DDB value of P204,000.
The police also found out that Babera is included on their watch list as a “high-value individual” in the local drug trade.
In Binangonan town, police officers arrested John Rey Garcia in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Batingan at about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Seized from the suspect, an identified drug pusher in the locality, were four sachets of shabu weighing 27.7 grams worth P188,360 as per DDB valuation.
Meanwhile, drug enforcers in Batangas City nabbed Joven Velarde and Anna Mae Oliva in a sting operation in Barangay Balagtas at about 8:43 p.m. on Saturday.
The suspects, both identified drug pushers, were caught in possession of eight sachets of meth worth P167,670.
Police also seized a mobile phone from the suspects which will be subjected to digital forensic examination if it has records of drug transactions.
All suspects are under police custody and will face a formal complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Libiran will also face a complaint for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the election code.
