Mactan-Cebu Airport runway closed for 3 hours due to stuck PAF plane

MANILA, Philippines — The Mactan-Cebu Airport was forced to temporarily close its runway for three hours on Wednesday morning after a Philippine Air Force (PAF) plane landed and got stuck.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap), the airport’s runway was shut down at 2:15 a.m.

“Upon touchdown, TGR322 bounced on the runway and made a stop. Aircraft stuck on the runway,” Caap said in an advisory.

The plane was removed around 4:45 a.m. after airport personnel conducted clearing operations.

Mactan-Cebu Airport then reopened its runway at around 5:10 a.m.
