Typhoon Jenny’s Signal No. 3 a possibility, says Pagasa

The state weather bureau said in its weather bulletin on Tuesday afternoon that the possible highest wind signal that may be raised due to Typhoon Jenny (international name: Koinu) is Signal No. 3.

MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said in its weather bulletin on Tuesday afternoon that the possible highest wind signal that may be raised due to Typhoon Jenny (international name: Koinu) is Signal No. 3.

“The most likely highest Wind Signal that will be hoisted is Wind Signal No. 3,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa likewise said that Jenny maintained its strength, with maximum wind speed of 155 kilometers per hour (kph) with gusts of 190 kph.

It is currently 325 kms east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes and is moving north northwest at 10 kph.

The weather agency maintained the Signal no. 2 status in Batanes, while Signal no. 1 is raised in the following areas:

Pagasa added that 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall is projected over areas in Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and the northern portion of Palawan, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, Pagasa added that Jenny continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring rains over Metro Manila, Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, the greater part of Mimaropa, and Western Visayas.

Jenny is also expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday, it likewise said.
