Hawaiian child porn convict denied PH entry by BI
MANILA, Philippines — Philippine authorities have stopped the entry of a man previously convicted of child pornography in Hawaii.
The Bureau of Immigrations (BI) reported Monday that Ronald Huy Young was barred from entering the Philippines for violating the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, which prohibits foreign nationals previously convicted of crimes involving moral turpitude from entering the country.
Citing records of the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center, the BI said Young pleaded guilty to electronic enticement of a child in the first degree. The information also indicated that in 2008, Young was sentenced by the First Circuit Court in Hawaii to 10 years of imprisonment.

“The law is very clear in its intent to protect Filipinos from foreigners who might be engaged in sex tourism and may prey upon the vulnerable,” BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said in a statement.
“Aliens with such criminal records are barred from entering our country,” he added.
Young will be sent back to his country of origin through the next available flight, and his name will be included in the BI’s blacklist, the bureau said.
