Scam, fraud victims in Italy to get legal assistance

The government has assured hundreds of Filipinos, who fell victims to fraud and illegal recruitment in Italy, that they would be provided with legal assistance so they could file a case against those who lured them into nonexistent jobs. Consul General Elmer Cato said Foreign Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega has approved the recommendation of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan to hire lawyers to represent the complainants in Italy. Cato said the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Migrant Workers would both provide a lawyer to assist the victims.
