DSWD calls on parents of abandoned children

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) on M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the parents and relatives of abandoned children.

Aljohn Jay Estrera, born on Nov. 30, 2011, at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, was left by his mother Almarie Estrera on Jan. 18, 2012, at the DSWD-7’s Reception and Study Center for Children in Cebu City.

On January 2008, Yuahan Zac S. Omar and Leigh Miguel S. Omar were left by their father Wilfredo Omar Jr. in Minglanilla town, southern Cebu. Yuahan Zac was 3 years old then, while Leigh Miguel was o1 year old.

On March 13, 2011, at 9 p.m., a certain Lucy Macahig Acosta left the Margaritha Birthing Center without permission, leaving behind her baby Lady Jane. Acosta never came back and can no longer be contacted. She also has no known address.

The parents of the children are requested to see social workers Grenadier Noel, Loida Maquiling, Josie Mayol and Clavel Saycon at the DSWD-7 office on M.J. Cuenco Avenue with contact numbers 232-6581 or 233-8779.

Failure of the parties to appear or claim the children will subject them for abandonment in DSWD Central Office.
