1,231 COVID-19 infections from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1 — DOH

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,231 COVID-19 infections were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, slightly higher than the 1,164 cases recorded the previous week.

Based on the DOH’s latest data, the weekly total translated to a daily average of 176 confirmed cases, six percent higher than the 166 average from Sept. 18 to 24.

Eight infections — or 0.65 percent of the total cases — were tagged critical or severe, with active critical or severe COVID-19 admissions currently at 189.

No additional deaths were recorded by the DOH.

Despite the slight on increase in new cases, utilization of ICU beds slightly dropped to 13 percent from 13.2 in the previous week, while non-ICU bed utilization rate decreased to 16.3 from 16.8 percent.
