MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Four individuals were arrested and around P103,600 worth of shabu (crystal meth) was seized in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Dau village late Friday afternoon, September 29.

PDEA Central Luzon public information officer Glen Guillermo stated Friday evening that an alleged drug den was dismantled during the 5:30 p.m. operation. Arrested were Alfredo Pare Jr., 44; Paulo Pare, 52; Juanito Palo, 51; and Corazon Galang, 36, all residents of the city. The Pares are cousins.

The operation, jointly executed by PDEA Pampanga and PDEA Tarlac, initially targeted the younger Pare but led to the unearthing of his purported drug den and the apprehension of the others, Guillermo noted.

Agents recovered six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 15 grams of shabu, valued at P103,600, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked bills used in the sting.

The suspects now face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
