MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Teodoro Herbosa as the Interim Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) after the Commission on Appointments (CA) bypassed his confirmation.
The Presidential Communications Office announced Herbosa’s interim appointment in a Facebook post on Friday.
The hearing of CA on his confirmation was previously terminated after four hours due to lack of time.
Meanwhile, former chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Andres Centino was named Presidential Assistant for Maritime Concerns.
The post has the rank of Secretary under the Office of the President.
The Judiciary also gained new appointees, said the Palace.
Juliet Manalo-San Gaspar is now Associate Justice of Sandiganbayan.
In Court of Appeals, Lorna Francisca Catris Cheng, Maria Consejo Gengos-Ignalaga, and Raymond Joseph Javier were appointed Associate Justices.
Meanwhile, Henry Angeles was named Associate Justice in the Court of Tax Appeals.
