MANILA, Philippines — Half or 50 percent of Filipinos are dissatisfied with the K to 12 education system in the country, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) reported Thursday.
The 50 percent rate was a combination of respondents who said they were “very dissatisfied” and “somewhat dissatisfied” at 37 and 13 percent.
Meanwhile, survey results showed only 39 percent of 1,500 adult respondents said they were satisfied.
16 percent were “very satisfied” and 23 percent “somewhat satisfied” with the basic education program.

On the other hand, nine percent said they were “undecided.”
Two percent said they did not have enough knowledge to provide an opinion.
In the same survey, results also showed the majority, or a whopping 89 percent of the respondents, said they preferred a June to March academic calendar.
Only 10 percent said they preferred September to June, while one percent said they had no specific preference.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews from June 28 to July 1 nationwide.
It had a sampling error margin of ±2.5 percent.
