MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance Corp. (GSIS) and the  Department of Education (DepEd) signed on Monday an agreement aimed at improving insurance services to public school teachers, according to the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo Veloso and Vice President Sara Duterte, the concurrent DepEd Secretary, signed the deal at the GSIS main office.

The agreement will establish express lanes and a hotline exclusively for teachers.

It will also keep a continuous dialogue with DepEd on how to improve its service and will have personnel dedicated to work on DepEd issues.

“This memorandum of agreement confirms our commitment to provide solutions to the concerns of our employees — and to move forward with a renewed and stronger institutional collaboration anchored on our shared objective to best serve  Filipinos and the country,” Duterte said during the signing ceremony.

“Having a dedicated team of account officers will minimize the time needed to reconcile accounts and speed up the process of addressing premium-related discrepancies and loan-related issues,” she said.
