LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics agents arrested on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 22 and 23) six alleged big-time drug pushers and seized more than P720,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate operations in Rizal province.

In a report, the Regional Police 4A said members of the drug enforcement unit in Binangonan town nabbed Sherwin Bugarin during a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Darangan at 1:35 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities seized five sachets of meth with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P129,880.

The suspect was tagged as an HVI or “high-value individual” on the drug watch list in the locality.

In Rodrigiuez town, anti-illegal drug operatives collared at 5:30 p.m. on Friday Fahad Mandal, Mario Talpe and Princess Arenas during a drug sting operation in Barangay San Isidro.

The suspects, also classified as HVIs, yielded 11 sachets of meth with a DDB value of P340,000.

Also recovered from the suspects was an improvised handgun with one bullet and a mobile phone, which will be subjected to digital forensic examination if it has records of drug transactions.

In San Mateo town, Roy Delos Angeles and Lotis Pascua were arrested after they allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer inside a subdivision in Barangay Ampid 1 on Friday morning.

The authorities found them with 15 sachets of shabu worth P250,580 as per DDB valuation.

The local police in the three municipalities were tracking the source of the seized illegal drugs.

The suspects were detained and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, Mandal, Talpe and Arenas will also be slapped with violating gun laws and the Omnibus Election Code.
