MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang said the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (Ledac) has approved 10 more priority measures that should be passed in Congress.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a statement Thursday that the additional proposed laws are:
- Amendments to the Government Procurement Reform Act
- Excise Tax on Single-Use Plastics
- Amendments to the Cooperative Code
- Amendments to the Fisheries Code
- New Government Auditing Code
- Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime
- Philippine Defense Industry Development Act
- The Philippine Maritime Zones Act
- Open Access in Data Transmission Act
- Amendments to the Right-of-Way Act
The PCO said these are “for inclusion in the Common Legislative Agenda for the 19th Congress.”
In the same Palace statement, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said they are committed to supporting the additional bills.
“Mayroon pong additional, dinagdag po ng ating economic team, and we committed to support this as well. Wala po kaming nakikitang controversial,” Zubiri was quoted as saying.
(There is an additional, added by our economic team, and we are committed to supporting this as well. We don’t see anything controversial.)
The House of Representatives and the Senate are currently working on bills they are tasked to approve before Congress takes a break in December.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier mentioned 20 priority measures, of which the House of Representatives has passed 18 while the Senate has approved 10.
