LRT-1 to conduct rail replacement activities on Baclaran station
MANILA, Philippines — The management of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) on Wednesday announced that it is set to conduct rail replacement works at Baclaran station from September 20 to 24, resulting in limited train deployment, movement and headway.
To give way to the maintenance activity, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said a section of Baclaran’s reversing tracks will be closed.
The closure of the segment, the LRMC said, will affect LRT-1’s train movements, deployment and usage of station platforms for loading and unloading passengers. It will also increase LRT-1’s train timetable and headway from four minutes to approximately five minutes.
“As the LRT-1 system continues to cater to our growing ridership, LRMC commits to providing a safe and reliable transportation system. We would like to ask for the kind understanding of our commuters and apologize in advance for the temporary inconvenience as we conduct these rail renewal activities needed for improved LRT-1 experience,” LRMC Chief Operating Officer Rolando Paulino III said in a statement.
“We also continue with the deployment of our new 4th Generation trains to carry more passengers, with five train sets already in commercial service,” he added.
