LUCENA CITY – A truck driver died and six others were injured in a collision Monday at the Maharlika Highway in San Pablo City, Laguna province.
The Region 4A police reported on Tuesday, Sept. 19, that a truck driven by Oliver Rosales collided around 7:30 a.m. with an oncoming Toyota Fortuner driven by Justin Bidea in a section of the highway in Barangay San Antonio 1.
Both drivers and their respective passengers suffered injuries and were taken to two hospitals in the locality, but Rosales died on the way.
The truck’s passengers, Mark Anthony Villegas and Joel Contreras, Bidea and his passengers, Royete Uy, Ramples Aguilar, and Maria Pauline Reyes were confined in the hospital for treatment.
The police said the Toyota Fortuner occupied the opposite lane, which led to the collision.
The police are conducting further investigation.
