The LTFRB earlier announced that the distribution of fuel subsidies would begin Wednesday, Sept. 13.
“The DBM has already downloaded the money with the Land Bank, kung hindi pa natatanggap it’s probably because the bank is taking time to process everything – because there is about 1.36 million na beneficiaries, you should understand hindi naman po kaya ng Land Bank sabay sabay i-process ‘yan,” said LTFRB Chairman Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III.
(The DBM has already downloaded the money with the Land Bank; if it hasn’t been received, it’s probably because the bank is taking time to process everything – because there are about 1.36 million beneficiaries, you should understand that the Land Bank can’t do it all at once.)
“What we can assure you is the money is already in the bank, bigyan lang ng konting pagkakataon ang Land Bank para mai-download ‘yung pera (just give the Land Bank time to download the money),” he added.
Guadiz said that PUV operators and drivers — excluding tricycle drivers — may expect to receive the subsidy by Friday.
“As of this afternoon, may 50,000 beneficiaries na po of the 280,000 pinpointed beneficiaries ng LTFRB [ang na-process], so we expect probably to finish this by Friday (there are 50,000 beneficiaries out of the 280,000 pinpointed beneficiaries of LTFRB already processed, so we expect probably to finish this by Friday),” said Guadiz.
Meanwhile, for the 930,000 tricycle drivers and operators, Guadiz said it would depend on the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) agreement with the Land Bank.
The LTFRB handles the distribution of subsidies for jeepney, bus, and taxi operators and drivers, while the DILG is in charge of the fuel subsidy for tricycle drivers and operators.
On the other hand, the Department of Trade and Industry is in charge of the subsidy for delivery drivers.
