Pagcor warns vs illegal online gaming websites
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) on Tuesday warned against the proliferation of online gaming websites using the Pagcor logo without its permission to mislead the public that their activities are connected with licensed Philippine offshore gaming operators.
In a statement, Pagcor Chair Alejandro Tengco advised the public to be cautious when accessing such online gaming websites, saying they may put their personal and financial information at risk.
Tengco said they have been monitoring and investigating these dubious websites and has endorsed them to the Philippine National Police, Department of Information and Communication Technology and the National Bureau of Investigation for proper action.
“So far, we have been able to shut down most of these illicit websites, but some of them are able to immediately create new ones so we really need the public’s cooperation and vigilance to help us weed out these scammers,” he said.
