MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said that it aims to resolve the backlog of over 2.4 million driver’s licenses within two to three months.

According to LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II, the temporary restraining order (TRO) on the delivery of plastic cards already expired, which means the agency can resume addressing these backlogs.

“So this week, we received 200,000 cards; all in all nakaka-300,000 na po ang ating suppliers. Ang target po sana natin one million by the end of this month,” Mendoza told reporters on Tuesday.

“Ang delay kasi natin sa cards nasa 2.4 million ang backlog, which we can easily wipe out dahil ang order naman natin ay nasa five million. In two to three months, wala na dapat backlog sa driver’s license,” he added.
