Magnitude 6.3 quake hits Cagayan, intensities felt in northern Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 6.3 tectonic earthquake rocked Cagayan on Tuesday evening, the state seismologists reported.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthqake struck at 7:03 p.m. and its epicenter was located west of Dalupiri Island in Cagayan.
The following intensities were reported:
Intensity V
- Ilocos Norte – Bacarra, Bangui, Burgos, City of Laoag, Pagudpud, Paoay, Pasuquin, and San Nicolas
Intensity IV
- Apayao – Luna
- Ilocos Norte – City of Batac, Currimao, and Pinili
- Cagayan – Claveria, Enrile, Pamplona, Sanchez-Mira, and Santa Praxedes
Intensity III
- Abra – Bucay, Lacub, Lagayan, and San Juan
- Ilocos Sur – Banayoyo, Bantay, Burgos, Caoayan, San Emilio, San Esteban, San Ildefonso, San Vicente, Santa Catalina, Santa
- Cruz, Santiago, Sigay, and City of Vigan
- Cagayan – Solana
- Nueva Ecija – Santo Domingo
Intensity II
- Abra – Dolores, La Paz, Luba, Pidigan, and Tubo
- Ilocos Sur – Narvacan, Santa, and Santa Maria
- Cagayan – Aparri
Intensity I
- Abra – San Isidro
- Ilocos Sur – City of Candon, and Tagudin
- Cagayan – Camalaniugan, Lal-Lo, and Santa Ana

The Phivolcs said that damage are expected, and aftershocks may occur.
