Romualdez grateful for House latest high survey rating, vows to continue hard work

MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Sunday expressed gratitude for the latest high survey rating received by the House of Representatives (HOR) and vowed to continue working hard for the public.
“I thank our people for recognizing the work we do at the House of Representatives for them and the nation under the Marcos administration. That will inspire us to push on and even work harder to remain worthy of their trust,” he said.
An Octa research poll held last July 22 to 26 and released on August 21 showed that out of 1,200 adult respondents, 54 percent were satisfied with lower chamber’s performance.
Meanwhile, nine percent said they were dissatisfied and 36 percent were undecided.
The survey was conducted with a margin of error of +/- three percent.
“We have already made some headway, and we will carry on with those tasks with more vigor until we have achieved the goals we have set out to do,” the official added.
Romualdez assured that the HOR will remain committed to stabilizing the prices of rice and other staples.
He said that they will also work on helping those affected by the government’s measures to keep commodity prices low such as retailers, small traders, and market stallholders.
HOR will likewise help agriculture and other related sectors solve the supply and production sides of commodity price issues through sufficient funding in the national budget, Romualdez added.
“Needless to say, if there is enough supply, we would not be having problems with prices,” he said.
