Driver injured in ambulance-bus Edsa busway collision

MANILA, Philippines — An ambulance and a bus clashed in the Edsa Busway in front of Baliwag Transit in Quezon City on Thursday morning, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
“As captured on the CCTV, the ambulance from the main road entering the busway was hit by [a] bus,” the MMDA said in its initial report.
The ambulance carried no patient, but its driver was injured due to the incident, said MMDA.
While failing to slam the brakes, the MMDA said the bus driver did not exceed the speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour.
Ambulances are also allowed in the Edsa Bus Lane, per the Department of Transportation’s policy.
