CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake jolted parts of Occidental Mindoro Wednesday, Sept. 6, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its 3:07 p.m. bulletin, Phivolcs said the tectonic quake, that has a 30-kilometer depth of focus, struck 9 kilometers northeast of Santa Cruz in Occidental Mindoro at 2:53 p.m.
It was felt at Intensity III in the City of Calapan and Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro; Intensity II in Abucay in Bataan and Ternate in Cavite; Intensity I in Batangas City in Batangas, Tagaytay City in Cavite; Boac in Marinduque; San Jose in Abra De Ilog, and Magsaysay in Occidental Mindoro.
There were no reports of damage to infrastructure as of this writing.
