Stamping vehicle owner’s OR/CR eyed to extend validity of driver’s license

LTO vows solution to driving school’s expensive fees by March 2023

MANILA, Philippines – Land Transportation Office (LTO) will study the option of putting stamps on the Official Receipt or Certificate of Registration (OR/CR) of vehicle owners, in lieu of driver’s licenses in plastic cards.

This is to indicate that the license of the vehicle owner has been extended.

This recourse is being considered by LTO Head Vigor Mendoza based on his statement posted on the agency’s Facebook account.

This development aggravated the shortage in drivers’ licenses.

Agri Partly-list Representative Wilbert Lee had suggested putting stamps on the OR/CR.

“Kasama na rin sa ating pinag-aaralan sa ngayon ang paglalagay ng stamp sa mga OR/CR ng mga drivers,” Mendoza responded.

“We will consult with the Department of Transportation on what’s the best measure so that we will no longer add burden to our drivers and motorists,” he added.
