LUCENA CITY – More than P500,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) was seized by police from three suspected big-time drug traffickers early Saturday (Sept. 2) in separate buy-bust operations in Rizal province.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO4A) in a spot report said members of the Binangonan town police drug enforcement unit nabbed Windelyn Lizares around 3:15 a.m. after he allegedly sold a pack of shabu to an undercover cop in a sting operation in Barangay (village) Pagasa.

The police found Lizares in possession of 16 plastic sachets of shabu weighing 55.8 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P379,440.

Police tagged the suspect as included on the police drug watch list as “HVI” or a high-value individual in the local drug trade.

Earlier, San Mateo town anti-narcotics operatives collared Edmar Ramos and Jhemel Manlapaz in Barangay (village) Silangan around 1:37 a.m.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects, both identified drug pushers in the locality, nine sachets of meth weighing 17.77 grams.

Police said the seized shabu had an estimated DDB value of P120,836.

The operatives also seized one mobile phone from the suspects which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions.

Police in Binangonan and San Mateo were investigating the source of the confiscated illegal drugs.

The three suspects were detained and are facing formal complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
