Irish lands in jail in Makati for unpaid bar bill, physical assault

An Irish was arrested in Makati City for failure to settle his bill and physical assault at a bar in Poblacion, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).

MANILA, Philippines — An Irish was arrested in Makati City for failure to settle his bill and physical assault at a bar in Poblacion, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).

In a report on Thursday, SPD officials identified the 30-year-old foreigner as Fitzgibbon Adam, who went on a drinking spree and refused to pay his bill amounting to P23,479.

Based on the statement of the bar’s bouncer, the SPD said the management of the bar and the unidentified victim confronted Adam regarding his bill, which resulted in a heated argument and assault.

Police said the drunk suspect reportedly punched the victim’s face before attempting to escape the area. However, the latter was able to stop him and seek law enforcer’s assistance.

The SPD said its operatives arrested Adam and took him to a hospital in the city for medical examination.

He is currently detained at the Station Custodial Facility of Makati City Police Station.
