Katipunan community has last say on U-turn
In a case where locals, not motorists, were given a say on traffic measures, schools and residents on Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City, agreed to close a U-turn slot in front of La Vista subdivision starting next week.
The decision was reached in a meeting held on Monday by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority with representatives of Ateneo de Manila, Miriam College, La Vista Homeowners, Barangay (village) Loyola Heights and the city government.
The MMDA is set to consult more residents and establishments on whether U-turns improve or worsen traffic in their areas.—Miko Morelos
