TAGBILARAN CITY— A village councilor of Loay town in Bohol province is facing drug charges after his arrest during a sting operation on Tuesday night.
At least three grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P20,000 were seized from Jonardo Gamil Apduhan, 45, a councilor of barangay Alegria Norte, according to the report from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Visayas (PDEA-7).
The same report said Apduhan, who completed the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Philippines in 2021, just started selling drugs this year.
He was said to be planning to run for barangay captain during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections this Oct. 30.
Members of PDEA-Bohol, Maritime Police Station, Naval Forces Central, and Loay Municipal Police Station conducted the sting operation at 7:26 p.m. at Purok 3, Barangay Alegria Sur.
